The LaserScalpel is extremely easy to operate and requires no technical knowledge. The damaged board is first inspected with the tool’s microscope, then a joystick is used to position the laser over the defective area. The laser pulse is released by pressing a foot switch. For large short circuits, a series of laser pulses can be released while the laser is continually moved with the joystick.
The LaserScalpel is a Class 1 laser system, so it can be safely operated in any work environment.
